I'd like to introduce Meaghan Towers. A true warrior of life. Meaghan has had to overcome very personal adversity in her life, and if anything, it made her stronger to fight and live a healthy life. Meaghan competed in her first competition at the WNBFCALGARY PRO/AM show, and we are sure that we will see her again on stage.
Please enjoy her story!
Honestly I've always been a fairly active person but the true deciding factor to get IN THE GYM & change my life around was my last Brain surgery and then loosing my Mum a short 2 months later from two brain aneurysms. I no longer just wanted to look skinny I wanted to age well and healthy. To be able to run with grandkids if I'm lucky. To not be frail like my Gramma (different generation). I have had enough medical issues that I didn't want my body, something I can control, be the reason I couldn't do a lot. Age is just a number. I feel better and younger than I EVER did in my 20s. And I'll be 34 on Friday YAY!
My starting weight was 174.8 and Calgary weight was 134.6.... tho as we know that's not the case at the moment but this is a LIFESTYLE not a 1 trick pony game.
My dearest advice is honestly Consistency over perfection and become PROCESS obsessed over outcome. Because it'll take longer than expected to see the results you want. Process over outcome because there's always going to be that "WHAT'S NEXT".
And from a Post Show competitor I made sure I had a plan in place to counter the post show blues so what's next is Calisthenics Training with Handstand specific movements.
We hope that you enjoyed Meaghan' story. Feel free to leave her a comment below.
